About Amed:

Amed, located on the eastern coast of Bali, Indonesia, is world renowned for its excellent conditions for freediving. Here are several reasons why Amed is our chosen destination:

  • Warm Water: Amed benefits from warm water temperatures year-round, typically ranging from 27°C to 30°C. Warm water is comfortable for extended freediving sessions and helps prevent rapid body heat loss, allowing divers to stay in the water longer, with optimal performance.

  • Clear Visibility: The waters around Amed boast crystal-clear visibility, often exceeding 20 meters or more. Clear visibility enhances the freediving experience, allowing divers to enjoy stunning underwater landscapes and marine life.

  • Rich Marine Biodiversity: Amed is home to diverse marine life, including vibrant coral reefs, colourful fish, turtles, and more.

  • Accessible Dive Sites: Amed offers easy access to numerous dive sites suitable for freediving, ranging from shallow reefs to deeper drop-offs. Many of these sites are just a short swim from the shore, making them convenient for freedivers to explore without the need for boat transport.

  • Variety of Dive Environments: Freedivers in Amed can enjoy a variety of underwater landscapes to explore and play in, including coral gardens, underwater statues gardens, sandy bottoms and ship wrecks.

  • Relaxed Atmosphere: Compared to some of Bali's busier tourist areas, Amed offers a more laid-back and tranquil atmosphere with a huge variety of cafes, restaurants and bars. Did we mention the $15 full body massages…

  • Specially Designed Training Pools: Our confined water training will take place in a 25m pool (for dynamic work) and a shallow pool (for static breath-holds), both specifically designed for freediving.

Inclusions:

This retreat is designed to give you the ultimate freediving experience, combining expert training, breathtaking dive sites, and a supportive community. Here’s what’s included:

  • Freediving Training & Certification: Across all disciplines of freediving. Each student will get 1:1 video analysis and technique feedback twice throughout the freediving retreat.

  • PADI eLearning Course: Complete the online theory component before arrival.

  • Extended PADI Freediving Course: Tailored to your level, from total beginner to master freediver.

  • 5 Guided Freediving Sessions: With a max 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio for personalised coaching.

  • Meditation: Enhance relaxation and breath control.

  • Breath Workshops: Learn to relax and hold your breath longer.

  • Exclusive No-Fins Workshop: With Olympic swimmer and competitive freediver, Taylor McKeown
